A cellist for any occasion.

About Me

I have been playing the cello since the age of 7, I can remember the day that I first heard a cello being played and the strong magnetic pull that it invoked in me, firstly of curiosity followed by being in awe, of adoration, of falling into emersion at the wonder of this beautiful instrument.

My cello has since been at my side, as my closest friend, a great support at times, an avenue of releasing tension, my way of freely expressing myself, and as my secret therapist!

Most of my best creative moments have happened in tandem with my cello!

As a teenager I enjoyed being a member of the Southampton Youth Orchestra and was lucky enough to tour Canada, Hungary, Italy, Germany and Belgium.

I also formed a quartet with friends which we named The Bellefountain String Quartet where as enthusiastic students we enjoyed playing, performing, busking and being scouted for various opportunities including playing for weddings and being asked to join a cruise liner as ‘at sea entertainment’ in the piano lounge.

We cruised around the Canary Islands and North Africa which was such an exhilarating experience at such a young age.

My claim to fame is having taught Laura Carmichael to play the cello! Well known for playing Lady Edith in Downton Abbey!

Plus being asked to play for Sanjay Sunaks wedding (Brother of Sanjay Sunak the current chancellor of the exchequer)

Whilst living in Germany I have been playing as part of the Corona Ensemble performing string quartets, trios and solo’s for concerts, accompanying choirs, functions and occasions in the surrounding area.

I find it so fascinating learning to create connections with other musicians where the common language is the music, so much can be said and understood through music.

"Real understanding does not come from what we learn in books, it comes from what we learn from love of nature, of music, of man. For only what is learned in that way is truly understood."

Pablo Casals
